Only leave footprints

“Not A Jellyfish” is a short commentary on consumers attitudes towards ocean waste, delving into the problematic of indifference of overconsumption and failure to take responsibility. With the film constrained to the outdated living room, reflects the consumers outdated ideology. The digital execution using 3d models, allows for a creative merge of reality and dystopian underwater scenes. Combined with the eerie soundscape amplifies the plurality of beauty in nature and the erosion of natural habitat due to waste.

Only leave footprints

Only leave footprints is a fictional campain to raise awarness for sea pollution, and acts as a personal project for my graphic communication course during my time at Brockenhurst College.

Part of the project was to create one-line drawings, which I used to develop a pattern centered around various affected sea creatures. The pattern page acts as the first page of the notebook adding thematic emphasis from the very beginning.

My aim was to create graphic illustrations depicting the hazardous impact of the anthropogenic climate change and waste upon sea life. At first glance the artworks seem playful until closer inspection reveals the overall theme.

The illustrations then were used to form a brand identity for a stationary brand called "The Notebook", which is a line of notebooks with taglines addressing ocean pollution. Moreover, the brand uses recycled materials for all of its' products to mitigate any environmental impact and instead supports ocean cleaning products with each purchase.
